The Happy List

This is quite a personal post for me to write, so I really hope you guys enjoy it...

About two years ago, I started a mini project called The Happy List. It was something very private to me, something I showed nobody and told nobody about. It was something for me to look at on down days to remind me of all of the positives in my life.

The Happy List is essentially a list of everything that makes me happy, no matter how big or small those things might be. Whenever I think of something that never fails to make me smile, I write it down on a list on my phone, so that when I am having bad days or I feel depressed, I can look at The Happy List in an attempt to make myself feel better. What I love most about The Happy List is that it epitomises my eternal optimism as a person, and my desire to look on the bright side of life as much as I can for as long as I can.

Recently, I've been feeling rather unhappy (y'know, hormones and teenage angst and all that) so have been needing to read The Happy List quite a lot more often than usual. It's this increased frequency of checking The Happy List that has prompted me to write this 'ere blog post.

I'm going to finish the post by including some of the things on my Happy List, but before I do, I want you, my readers, to create your own. Collate everything and anything that brings you joy or happiness into a massive list (mine is about two or three pages long). The size of your list alone will help you realise the sheer volume of happiness you have in your life, which will help you to feel better (I hope) and reignite your zest for life.

I really hope that you like the idea of this little project of mine, and that I've inspired you to create your own Happy List maybe. I'll be back on Thursday for an out-and-about special, hopefully featuring some friends of mine (although there may be a mini-post tomorrow or Wednesday, who knows?).

Keep smiling!
