Though the sunshine faded and the clouds turned grey.
Today was the bestest kind of day,
While lightning struck and interrupted play.
We stood shivering under the shelter together,
Hugging and laughing and complaining about the weather.
Mini golf plans interrupted by storms
We ran for home to feel safer and warm.
Pyjamas on, surrounded by blankets galore,
We settled down to a film we'd seen a million times before.
We drank coffee, ate chocolate, and giggled as one,
So although thunder rumbled, we still had bags of fun.
Today was the bestest kind of day,
When even best laid plans can go array.
Today was the bestest kind of day,
These are the days that will never go away."
Random photo of my pyjamas I took...
So I was feeling creative today, and thought I'd do something different as a blog post. I decided to write a poem about my day!
If you didn't understand the poem, my family decided to play mini golf today as the weather was looking good, but as soon as we arrived at the centre, a storm arose, and we had to dash home, where we watched a film in our pyjamas and had a lazy afternoon. Today was the best kind of day because the disruption of our plans made it a better day overall. That was the message of my poem - yeah, I didn't really get it either!
Hope you had the best kind of day.
