Under The Weather - Dorset #5

Hello friends! Welcome to the fifth post of my Dorset mini-series! Get ready for a fortnight of pictures and posts in which I will attempt to do my summer holiday justice. Here's hoping that the holiday will be good, I'll remember to post every day, and that the cottage we're staying at has wifi (fingers crossed). Thank you for deciding to join me on this little adventure - I can't tell you how much this means to me!

Today was a real emotional rollercoaster. No lie.

I started the day confused and upset because of a dream I'd had that I'd thought was real. I then spent the rest of the early morning puzzling over the whys and wherefores of the dream, and why it was so vivid.

Still, my mood soon improved when I learned that we would be visiting Lyme Regis for the day, to check out the beach and the regatta (I pronounced this wrong and was mocked by my family). We'd never visited Lyme Regis before but had heard that it was a pretty seaside town with lovely shops and scenery - and our assumptions were correct!

Some pictures I took of Lyme Regis town...

We drove to Lyme Regis in the morning and stayed on the beach until lunchtime. The weather was lovely; clear blue skies and a lovely balmy temperature made the beach so peaceful and relaxing to be on. I managed to snap some wonderful pictures in the sunshine, and the time spent on the beach made me feel blissfully content. It was perfect.

We then walked along the promenade in search of lunch, and ate in a dinky cafe overlooking all of the boats moored at the bay. Then the day took a turn for the worse.

Dusty was violently sick as we ate our lunch. And we had to cut our outing short to take her to the vet. She'd been neglecting her food for a day or two, so we'd known that something was wrong, but the incident at lunch confirmed it for us. At the vet, Dusty was diagnosed with gastroenteritis (a very severe stomach bug, basically) and was given medication to help return her insides to normal.

After taking Dusty home and attempting to feed her medication and dinner, we didn't feel like eating out, so had another takeaway (oops) and watched The Lego Movie, which is fab, by the way.

And that concludes my day! It's a pretty short post, I'm afraid, but not really much else happened that I can talk about. Dusty is now on the mend (hopefully) so the next post will, with any luck, be more entertaining for you guys to read!

Thanks for sticking around, anyway. Better posts to come, I promise!
